HOUSTON – Tornado Warnings were issued northeast of Houston just before noon Friday.
There were no reports of damage.
The warnings have since expired, but KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner says the threat for severe weather will last throughout the afternoon.
Around lunchtime, the weather was mostly calm closer to the City of Houston.
There's a 50-percent chance for rain this afternoon as we top out near 90 degrees. By 7 p.m. most of the rain should clear out, leaving you nice and dry for the start of your Saturday.
Saturday there’s a 30-percent chance for rain and on Sunday there’s a 20-percent chance.
Early next week the skies will clear out, and our afternoon highs will return to the mid-90s. Overnight lows will be in the mid- to upper-70s.
