HOUSTON -- An employee at Houston Community College is accused of sexually assaulting a coworker.

Police said 21-year-old Mohammed Nadir cornered the co-worker as they were both leaving the downtown campus and tried to rape her.

She managed to fight him off. Nadir told police it was consensual.

He was being held on $30,000 bail.

The Houston Community College administration released the following statement:

"Houston Community College Police arrested a suspect for sexual assault. The suspect was transferred to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. This is a pending criminal investigation.

The suspect has been issued a criminal trespass warning and is forbidden from any HCC property at any time without expressed written invitation by the HCC administration. HCC is following all Title 9 and Clery required protocols.

The safety of HCC’s students, faculty and staff is of the utmost concern. As an institution committed to the advancement of all individuals through education, we have no tolerance for any action that compromises the well-being and safety of our students or any individual affiliated with the college."
