HOUSTON –- A horse was struck and killed by a passing car on the South Freeway early Friday.
The incident was reported on the freeway’s northbound lanes near Orem around 7:24 a.m., according to Houston TranStar.
As of 8:45 a.m. crews were still on the scene working to remove the animal. Only one shoulder lane was blocked, causing a brief slowdown.
The horse was not wearing a saddle and appeared to have wandered from a nearby field.
