HOUSTON—A man who was repeatedly shot in the front yard of another man who said he was afraid for his life is telling his side of the story.

From his hospital bed, Edwin Reynoso made a statement recorded on a mobile phone saying he was unarmed when he was shot outside a suburban home.

The man who fired those shots, Shannon Pool, told KHOU 11 News he and his wife were approached in their driveway by two strange men who threatened to kill them.

On Friday, the injured man’s father and sister, accompanied by community activist Quanell X stood in front of Pool’s house and said he should be jailed.

“I don’t know what they’re doing.  They’re not doing their job. A man is shot four times in the back and he’s still out on the streets? Something is wrong,” said Manuel Velez, the shooting victim’s father.

Pool didn’t want to talk to reporters Friday, but he previously told us he’s heartbroken about what happened and he’s had nightmares, but he has no regrets.
