Homeless man killed in accident at Houston construction site

HOUSTON –- Houston police said a homeless man died early Friday after he was run over by a piece of heavy equipment while he slept at a construction site.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the accident happened around 5 a.m. on Harrisburg Boulevard at S. Lockwood Drive on the southeast side.

Crews were backing a tractor off of a trailer, and it ran over the man, who was said to be in his 50s.

Right now, no charges are expected in the case. HPD said the man shouldn’t have been on the property.
