HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a suspect who ditched officers during a chase in northwest Harris County Thursday night.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were responding to a home invasion call in the Cross Creek subdivision around 9:30 p.m. A woman called saying a man was trying to break into her home.

As officers approached the scene, the suspect pulled out of the driveway in a Jaguar and took off.

The suspect led officers on a short chase, before jumping out of the vehicle, letting it roll into another home in the 19400 block of Elm Tree Estates and Prairie Village.

The suspect was hit by a deputy’s car and rolled under the front bumper, but that still did not stop him.

“Well, he got up and ran away, so if he’s injured, he’s not feeling it yet,” said Sgt. Mike Harvey, Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

K-9 units and an HPD helicopter were called in to assist in the search.

As of Friday morning, the suspect still had not been caught.
