HOUSTON - Friday is supposed to be the second busiest travel day of the season, but travelers at Bush International Airport do not have too much to complain about.
There have only been about two dozen flight delays at a time and only a handful of cancellations.
Wait times for security lines have ranged between 5 and 15 minutes.
More families and larger groups are expected to travel Friday, because it was the last day of school before winter break for many students.
However, for the most part, travelers said they have seen worse.
“It’s actually been pretty good. Traffic wasn’t a problem. Check in wasn’t that bad, so no complaints whatsoever,” Terri Brown, a traveler, said.
“My daughter came in, (and) we were able to park. No problem. Check in. No problem. She’s already at her gate in less than 30 minutes,” Vernon Reed, a Humble resident, said.
Airport officials said traffic will peak Friday evening since many people with layovers or international flights will be heading out.
Saturday is expected to be the second busiest day for Hobby Airport.
