HOUSTON -- A hit-and-run crash sent a Houston police officer to the hospital late Sunday, police said.
The search for the suspect, who was said to be driving a black Chevrolet pickup truck, continued overnight.
The Houston Police Department said the crash happened as an officer responded to a call on the northeast side of town. She was driving south on Homestead Road when a vehicle traveling the opposite direction turned in front of her patrol car at Kittridge Street.
The officer’s patrol car sustained heavy damage, but the driver of the other vehicle managed to drive away.
Police said the officer was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
