HOUSTON -- Heavy overnight rains caused the White Oak Bayou near downtown to overflow past its banks early Saturday.

However, the water quickly began to recede Saturday morning as it flowed down towards Allen Landing where it connects with Buffalo Bayou.

Those who use the bike paths near the bayou may want to avoid the area for time being as a number of the trails are covered in mud.
