HOUSTON -- A hazmat team and arson investigators were called to a fire at a metal shop in southeast Houston late Sunday.
The fire was reported on Luce Street at Bellfort Avenue just before midnight.
According to the Houston Fire Department, the first crews on the scene found light smoke and fire coming from the one-story building. The blaze was quickly brought under control, but hazmat crews were brought in due to the presence of oxy-fuel tanks, which are used in metal cutting.
No injuries were reported.
Arson investigators said at first glance the first was suspicious because the building’s front doors were open when firefighters arrived.
