HOUSTON – Harris County is trying out a new technique at two different busy intersections hoping to ease traffic.

During peak travel times every day — in the morning and evening — officials have begun adding additional turn lanes to allow traffic to flow more smoothly.

So you might notice two lanes having a protected left turn or two lanes having a protected right turn instead of just one.

It's happening at West Little York at Eldridge and Kuykendaul at Louetta. If the changes are successful, more intersections could be added.
