HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A deputy with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a crash while responding to a robbery on the northwest side.

Deputies said the crash occurred Tuesday night on Fairbanks N. Houston Road near Rodney Ray Boulevard as officers responded to a Family Dollar store.

Deputies said the K-9 unit attempted to turn from the southbound lanes into the store’s parking lot when it was struck by a car in the northbound lane. The crash was minor, and neither the deputy nor the driver of the other vehicle, who was a pregnant woman, required medical treatment.

Deputies would not say who was at-fault for the crash, but they said the responding officer did not have his emergency lights or siren on.
