HARRIS COUNTY, Texas –- A deputy suffered minor injuries when he crashed his patrol car through a fence and into a tree while responding to a call early Tuesday, deputies said.

The incident happened on Clay Road at Deerfield Village Drive around 4 a.m., according to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy was responding to assist another deputy who had two suspects at gunpoint on Mason Road. He apparently hit a slick spot and spun out of control, smashing through a fence in front of a home. The patrol car then hit a tree.

The deputy was sent to the hospital to get checked out and was released a short time later.

No more information about the incident on Mason Road was available.
