FRIENDSWOOD, Texas—A Harris County deputy constable has been charged with indecency with a child after police say he exposed himself to a group of children in Friendswood.
On Nov. 7 around 5 p.m., Friendswood police received a call about a man standing naked in his backyard in the Wedgewood subdivision.
The man was spotted by a group of children playing basketball nearby, who notified a parent, police said.
Investigators identified the man as Charles Easterling, 51. He is a deputy with Precinct 8.
Easterling’s backyard does not have a fence, and police said he was standing in the nude without any regard for who might see him.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, police determined an investigative follow-up was necessary to document all the facts and circumstances relating to the incident.
The DA accepted charges November 13, and a warrant for Easterling’s arrest was obtained on November 16. The charge against Easterling is a third-degree felony with a $5,000 bond.
Easterling turned himself in Tuesday morning at the Harris County Jail. He posted bond at 8:44 a.m.
