HOUSTON – Police are looking for two suspects involved in an armored car robbery Tuesday at a Randalls grocery store in southwest Houston.
The armored car driver was confronted as he was opening an ATM machine in the lobby of the Randalls on West Bellfort near South Post Oak, according to the FBI.
The robber stuck a gun to the guard's stomach and grabbed the guard's gun. He fled with an unknown amount of cash.
The guard wasn't injured.
Witnesses said that money was scattered all over the floor of the lobby.
A getaway driver was waiting in a white F-250 pickup and the two men got away.
The robber is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, around 5'9 and 175 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a tan or off-white button-down shirt, jeans, a cap and sunglasses.
There was no description available for the getaway driver.
Investigators are checking the surveillance cameras for video of the robber.
