HOUSTON – Two men were arrested after a Houston police officer foiled a robbery attempt early Sunday at a west Houston restaurant, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, to two suspects were in the process of robbing the Chula’s restaurant, located in the 10500 Katy Freeway near Beltway 8, just after midnight when they were intercepted by an HPD officer working security at the business.

One of the suspects pulled a gun and fired at the officer, who then returned fire, police said. No one shot during the exchange, but the officer was able to get the suspects to surrender.
