HOUSTON –- Houston police said three men were taken into custody following a break-in at a credit union on the southeast side.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, an alarm went off at the Smart Financial Credit Union on S. Wayside at Griggs around midnight Monday. Police arrived and found three men exiting a broken window on the side of the building.

A least one of the men ran into a nearby neighborhood, so HPD called in a helicopter and K-9 units to help with the search. He was later located and arrested.

Police said the two other men were taken into custody as well.

Police said it didn't look like the men stole anything as all the money was in a safe, but they said the inside of the business appeared to be “trashed."
