HOUSTON -- Houston Police are investigating a bizarre homicide in Southwest Houston. Two men were intentionally run over near Bellflower Rd. and Amanda Road, according to police.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday. According to HPD, a man was being robbed when three men saw the altercation and came to help him. The suspect then deliberately ran over the two men with his vehicle, police said.

Both victims were taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Police say one died and the other was treated for a leg injury and was expected to survive.

The suspect fled the scene, but officers followed a fluid trail leaking from his car. Police found the car a few blocks away and took the suspect into custody.

Police are still questioning witnesses and say their investigation continues.
