HOUSTON – Two robbers pretended to need directions before shooting a man in northwest Houston late Tuesday night, police said.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Woodvine Drive at Highcrest Drive, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said the victim was sitting in his front yard with two other people when two men approached and asked for directions. That’s when they pulled out guns, grabbed a necklace off one of the victims, and began robbing all three of their belongings.

Police said the shooting victim struggled with the men, and that’s when they opened fire.

HPD said the victim was sent to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

A detailed description of the suspects was not available.
