HOUSTON – A motor cyclist is fighting for his life after he was hit by an out of control driver early Saturday in north Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened around 2 a.m. on the North Freeway near the New Haven exit.
Witnesses said the driver was weaving in and out of traffic. The man was thrown from his bike and it was dragged about 300 yards before coming to a stop.
The rider was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition, police said. The driver of the car was not injured, but was taken downtown to be tested for possible alcohol.
Police said if the driver is found to be intoxicated, he faces intoxication assault charges.
