HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in the head during an altercation at a FedEx store in northwest Houston Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at a FedEx Office store, located in the 13100 block of the Northwest Freeway, shortly after 8 a.m.

Police said two customers were about to use computers inside the store when they began arguing. One of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The bullet grazed the other man’s head. Remarkably, he survived and managed to walk out of the store with investigators later in the morning.

He declined to speak with reporters, so it’s still unclear what led to the argument. It's not clear whether the men knew each other.

HPD spokesperson Jodi Silva said earlier investigators were looking into whether the shooting may be connected to a road rage call received around the same time nearby -- but detectives said later that the incidents were not related.

The suspect, who was said to be wearing a black sweater, black jeans and a black skull cap, fled the scene in a yellow van.

The FedEx store remained closed throughout the morning as surprised customers were told to return later.

"That is shocking," said Gail Branch, a FedEx customer who stopped by shortly after the shooting. "I have a presentation this morning and they give me really great service. So I'm shocked to see what's going on."
