HOUSTON—A man who was dodging bullets in northeast Houston early Wednesday was dragged underneath the car he was using for cover, according to Houston police.
Police said two groups of people were in the parking lot of a nightclub in Third Ward around 2:30 a.m. when some type of altercation occurred. Shots were fired and both groups fled.
One group of men drove to a location near Liberty and Brewster and was apparently followed, according to police.
Someone opened fire on the men and two of them tried to shield themselves from the gunfire in front of a car.
Another person jumped into the car and sped off, not knowing the others were in front of the vehicle.
One of the men got stuck under the bumper and was dragged several blocks.
When the driver realized what was happening, he jumped out and fled on foot.
Police are now looking for that driver to try and sort out the details.
The dragging victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
