HOUSTON -– Houston police said a man caught following a brief foot chase on the north side of town was later shot with a Taser stun gun when he tried to run a second time.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday on Ringold Street at Fortune Street.
According to officers with the Houston Police Department, a patrol unit spotted two suspicious males talking in an empty lot that is frequently used for drug deals. When the men saw HPD, they took off running.
One of the men was caught on foot while the other was found hiding behind a tree. Police said the man behind the tree had a bag of crack cocaine.
While the man with the cocaine was being questioned, he suddenly tried to run away again, and police stopped him by shooting him with a stun gun. The man now faces charges of resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.
HPD said the other suspect didn’t have anything on him, and he was let go.
