HOUSTON—A man was arrested Monday night after he tried to outrun officers who were investigating a drug deal, Houston police said.
It happened just after 8:30 p.m. in southeast Houston.
The man drove along the Gulf Freeway at a high rate of speed, discarding evidence from the vehicle throughout, police said. At one point, he was driving opposite the flow of traffic along the Interstate-45 feeder.
The chase eventually ended on the South Loop feeder road between Broadway and I-45 where the suspect hit some construction cones and ended up in a field.
The man suffered minor scrapes and was transported by ground to a nearby hospital.
He faces felony evading charges.
