HPD: Driver struck pedestrian near Houston Ship Channel, fled scene

HOUSTON—Houston police on Thursday were searching for a driver they say hit a pedestrian and fled the scene.

It happened late Wednesday night at 75th Street and Capitol, near the Houston Ship Channel.

Witnesses said the pedestrian was crossing the street when the driver, who was in a dark green or dark blue car, hit him.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, but police said he’s expected to survive.
