HOUSTON –- An argument between two longtime friends turned into a fatal shooting in northeast Houston late Tuesday, police said.

It was reported on Calgary Lane at Onslow Street around 8:30 p.m., according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers said they were called to reports of a shooting and found a wounded man. He was sent to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses told officers the victim got into an altercation with a friend, and he was shot.

Someone was placed in a patrol car at the scene, but police would not confirm if the suspected shooter was taken into custody.
