HOUSTON—A Pasadena man is accused of forcing himself into a woman’s home in broad daylight and trying to rape her, according to Pasadena Police.

Sergio Lopez, 21, was charged with burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit sexual assault.

Police said Lopez knocked on a woman’s apartment door around 9 a.m. on September 19 and, when she answered, forced his way inside.

The 37-year-old woman said she had never seen Lopez before, yet he told her “I want to be with you.”

Lopez pushed the woman down on the sofa and attempted to remove her clothing while removing his.

The victim saw the words “Mexico” tattooed across his abdomen.

She managed to fight Lopez off and he ran from the apartment.

Police ran a search for the tattoo in their database and found several matches. Lopez was positively identified from a photo lineup.

Charges were filed and his bail was set at $30,000.
