HOUSTON – A Houston mother abused her son, then told the little boy to lie about his injuries, according to Houston police.
Irma Suyapa Vasquez, 33, was charged with felony injury to a child.
According to court documents, the 8-year-old’s teacher noticed a bruise on his face and asked him what happened. The boy told his teacher he was injured by a soccer ball, but the teacher did not believe that story.
After more questioning, the boy said his mother slapped him in the face and on the back with her sandal because he made a loud sound at church. He said his mom then instructed him to say he was injured by the ball if anyone asked.
Vasquez confessed to hitting her son because she was mad and lost control. She also admitted to telling him to lie, investigators said.
