HOUSTON—A Houston man assaulted a 74-year-old woman who was once the common-law wife of his deceased father, according to Houston police.
Anthony A. Braswell, 46, was charged with injury to an elderly person.
Police said Braswell came over to the elderly woman’s home in search of legal papers on November 15, 2012. During the search, he began arguing with the woman, then grabbed her and threw her out of the house. The woman sustained dark bruises on both of her arms and a bruise near her left shoulder blade.
The injured woman said she and Braswell’s father were in a common-law marriage for 13 years and he never lived with the couple.
Charges were filed against Braswell and no bond has been given.
