HOUSTON – A Houston man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly tried to set his wife and their southeast Houston home on fire.
Demetric Walker, 29, was charged with aggravated assault of a family member and Arson.
According to a police report from the Houston Police Department, Walker doused his wife with gasoline and also threw the accelerant on some clothes in their home. He then lit the clothes on fire while the wife was nearby. The wife managed to get out of the way before the fire could reach her and called 911.
Police arrived and took Walker into custody. Bail was set at $30,000 for the Arson offense, but no bond was given for the family violence charge.
