HOUSTON—The Harris County grand jury will decide if a 60-year-old woman who killed an elderly acquaintance during an altercation at her home Tuesday will face any charges.
Investigators said the woman invited her friend, 86-year-old Salvador Badillo, to stay overnight with her at her home in the 7800 block of Woodlyn because it was cold outside.
Badillo and the woman were drinking alcohol when two began to argue. That is when Badillo allegedly struck the woman in the face with a bottle. The woman said she then used the same bottle to hit him back.
Both were taken to the hospital to be treated for facial and head injuries, but Badillo’s injuries were too severe.
He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
