HOUSTON – Two women were arrested after leaving two children alone in a motel room, court documents revealed.
Niramesha Konae Phillips, 32, and Tierra Monique Pierce, 28, were charged with abandoning a child.
According to Houston police, a 2-year-old girl knocked on the door of a person’s room at the Capital Inn Motel around 3:30 a.m. Friday. The person took the shivering child to the office and called police.
Investigators learned that Phillips and Pierce had left the toddler and another child alone in the room while they were out trying to earn enough money to pay the rent.
Both women were arrested and the children were turned over to CPS.
Phillips’ bail was set at $15,000. According to documents, she had previous convictions for forgery and possession of a controlled substance.
Pierce’s bail was set at $2,000.
