HOUSTON—At least five students were sent to the hospital following a crash involving a Houston Independent School District bus in north Houston early Tuesday.

An HISD spokesman said the crash happened when Bus 8849, which was heading to Reagan High School around 8 a.m., ran a stop sign and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban on Lawn Street near Fair Street.

Five students were sent to the hospital for treatment, some of them complaining of neck and back injuries. The Suburban’s driver was also sent to the hospital along with two kids that were in the SUV.

All of the injuries involved were minor.
