HOUSTON -- A grass fire broke out along the Southwest Freeway during the Tuesday morning rush hour commute.
The Houston Fire Department responded to an exit ramp near Bissonnet shortly after 7 a.m.
By 7:30 a.m. most of the tall flames had been reduced to white smoke.
Traffic was delayed in both directions as drivers slowed down to see what was going on.
There’s no early word on what caused the fire.
