CHANNELVIEW, Texas – Investigators are still searching for answers after five teenagers were shot in east Harris County over the weekend.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the possibility that the shooting started because of an earlier dispute.
Sandra Ramsey lives in the Johnson Place mobile home park and has heard gunshots before.
However, they are usually at night and on Sunday, they rang out at 2 p.m.
People living in the area said a number of teens were gathered near a home in the 900 block of Ashland Boulevard when someone, possibly driving by, opened fire.
Some believe it was payback from a recent conflict at a nearby Texaco gas station where a guy allegedly bashed in another guy’s car windows with a hammer.
However, this conflict left five teens shot; one of them had to be flown to the hospital by Life Flight.
Although all of them are expected to survive, there is a very real fear here this may not be the end of it.
Investigators agree it is unlikely this was random. They said they will only release names of the victims if they are charged.
