HOUSTON — Investigators have identified a body found buried near a northeast Harris County home over the weekend as a missing Pasadena man.

The body of 41 year-old Jesus Leal Valdez was buried 2 feet under a chicken coop near a home the 5200 block of Mohawk Street.

Harris County investigators searched the home after they received an anonymous call to 911.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office brought in special equipment and called Texas Equusearch to help find the remains.

Leal and his truck had been missing since Dec. 31.

Investigators discovered several vehicle parts near his body.

Family members say Leal was on his way to show a woman the truck he was selling on New Year's Eve. That was the last time anyone heard from him.

An unidentified woman has been captured on surveillance cameras at several locations using Leal’s debit card. She’s been seen leaving in a maroon SUV.

Anyone who can identify the woman or has any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS or Pasadena Police. The tipster could be eligible for a cash reward up to $5,000.

Leal's cause of death has not been released.
