HCSO: Suspect arrested after hitting deputy with car in N. Harris County

HOUSTON – A man is behind bars for hitting a sheriff’s deputy with his car Friday night in north Harris County.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 10 a.m. on Bammel Village. The deputy pulled up to two cars parked at the end of the street where a possible drug deal was going down.

That is when one of the drivers suddenly took off and hit the deputy knocking him down. As the car was coming toward the deputy, he started shooting.

The other driver stayed behind.

Deputies eventually caught up with the suspect off Bammelwood after he got a flat tire from when the deputy opened fire on the vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody.

The officer was taken to the hospital in stable condition with some minor contusions and scraps.
