HOUSTON—Houston police searched Wednesday morning for two men behind a robbery and shooting at a northwest side auto shop.

The shooting was reported just before 10 a.m. in the 8900 block of Long Point Road.

A worker told police the shooting victim was the auto shop’s owner.

Two men pulled up in a car as the owner arrived for work. One of the men got out, shot the owner, and then took his silver briefcase or cash box, a witness told police.

The suspects then fled the scene, possibly heading eastbound in a silver car with tinted windows.

The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Family members indentified the victim as 63-year-old Rasoul Soltani.

He leaves behind a wife and a daughter.
