PEARLAND, Texas – Life Flight rushed a student to the Texas Medical Center on Thursday morning after she was struck by a vehicle during a training run with her high school cross-country team, according to Pearland police.

The cross-country team members were conducting their usual morning run in the 4100 block of Magnolia around 6:20 a.m.

A pair of female runners attempted to cross the street near the Pearland Farms subdivision when one of them was struck by a passing vehicle.

Police said early information indicates the girls may have crossed the road unexpectedly in front of oncoming traffic.

The girl was transported with serious injuries.
