GALVESTON, Texas -- Many Galveston beachgoers this Fourth of July stuck to the areas in front of resorts and East-end beaches where the record-seaweed mess has been somewhat pushed out of the way.
Tourists like the Ortiz family from Round Rock, say they were surprised by the seaweed but won’t let it “stink up” their vacation plans.
“We’ll still have fun,” said Jenny Ortiz. “Moody Gardens, pleasure Pier, it’s lots to do here.”
Other families though have cut their vacation short because of the site and smell.
