GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas - Achieving goals can be rewarding — especially when that goal is to raise $2.324 million to aid 31 social service and nonprofit groups.
So, officials with the United Way Galveston County Mainland were pretty excited this week when they surpassed the 2012 fundraising goal and raised more than $3.328 million.
While the United Way’s campaign still has 16 days to go for the year, surpassing the fundraising goal assures the groups the agency funds will receive their full promised allocations. It also means the mainland United Way will have more money for its direct assistance programs.
