SPRING, Texas – Funeral services were held Monday morning for a Spring High School student who was stabbed to death last week on campus.
Services for 17-year-old Joshua Broussard were held at 11 a.m. at Spring Baptist Church, which was packed as many people came by to pay respects. The funeral home ran out of obituaries.
Outside, 40 to 50 Harris County Sheriff’s deputies trained in crowd control were staged in the back of the parking lot. They are there because of what happened Sunday night.
Deputies said during a memorial service for Broussard a group of suspected gang members got into it and shots were fired.
The sheriff’s office had its helicopter ready to fly if needed. The helicopter flew over the funeral procession as it made its way to the burial site.
