HOUSTON--A funeral will be held Saturday for a Liberty County toddler who allegedly died in her uncle’s care earlier this week.
One-year-old Harlee Ann Dowdy was being babysat by her grandparents on Tuesday. Both are volunteer firefighters and had to answer a call, so they left Harlee and her 3-year-old sister with their 18-year-old uncle Jack Hollis.
The teenager is mentally challenged and admitted to dropping the toddler.
He has been charged with injury to a child and is being held on $100,000 bond.
Harlee’s funeral will be held at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
