HOUSTON –- Houston police said fuel thieves ran away on foot after being caught stealing at a construction site on the northwest side.
The burglary was reported around 2 a.m. Wednesday on De Priest Street at Grenshaw Street.
Police arrived to find a pickup truck backed up to a diesel fuel tank. The suspects were apparently pumping the fuel into a 500-gallon container in the back of the truck. The thieves ran away after being spotted, leaving the truck behind.
Officers with the Houston Police Department said the suspects got away empty-handed.
