FRIENDSWOOD, Texas—Police said a suspect with a history of evading arrest jumped from a second-story window in a bid to escape officers on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. when Friendswood officers served a warrant on Joe Thornburg, 27.
Police said the officers surrounded the Regency Apartments, located in the 2400 block of Old Alvin Road in Pearland, prior to the warrant being served because of Thornburg’s history.
Once the officers served the warrant, police said Thornburg jumped out of the apartment window.
Officers on the ground apprehended him immediately.
Police said he was taken to Memorial Herman for treatment of a broken collar bone and a possible head injury.
It wasn’t Thornburg’s first run-in with Friendswood police.
In May 2007, police said Thornburg fled from officers after he was involved in a car crash on FM 528.
Thornburg led officers on a chase into League City and eventually jumped into Clear Creek before he was found and taken into custody, police said.
