HOUSTON—A Friendswood neighborhood is on edge after recent burglaries.

“It’s a shame. I thought it was the safest neighborhood in Houston,” said John Lowe.

John Lowe purchased his home on Bob White Drive more than 10 years ago. They moved there for safety. But after Thursday night, they’re stunned. The family went out to dinner, only to come back and find burglars broke in.

“The windows have an alarm sensor on it. They didn’t open it, they busted it out and crawled in,” said Lowe.

They crawled in through the bedroom window and ransacked the house.

“We feel violated, drawers and everything emptied,” said Lowe.

An old pistol and precious mementos were stolen.

“She had a tennis bracelet, it was pretty nice.  I bought it for her about 25 years ago, it’s gone,” said Lowe.

He wasn’t the only victim. Two more homes have been broken into in the Eagle Lakes Subdivision, one on Pebble Lane and the other on Lakeside Lane.

“I saw the cops out here, power tools were stolen,” said Andrew Montemayor, a neighbor.

“When you get behind his house, there is a big fence, people are always loading bikes, so we think someone snuck in the back,” said Edward Anderson, another neighbor.
