HOUSTON -- Freezing rain made travel in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio dangerous on Saturday evening, and multiple crashes were reported on Interstate 10 and Highway 290.
The roadways with ice reopened early Sunday morning as temperatures rose above the freezing mark.
There's a 30-percent chance for rain Sunday with a forecast high of 43 degrees.
"We are looking at a really long chilly period of weather," said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez. "You're probably going to need your jackets well into next week."
The skies stay cloudy and the temperatures remain cold this week with daytime highs in the 40s and overnight lows in the 30s.
Next weekend looks wet and cold as well.
