Willis, Texas – A former Willis ISD teacher was charged Thursday with having sexual contact with multiple students.
According to Willis ISD officials, administrators contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on February 6 to report the crime based on an anonymous tip.
The teacher, identified as Jacob Kinkaide, immediately resigned when questioned by district officials.
Authorities announced criminal charges against Kincaide, an assistant girl’s basketball coach, on Thursday.
“I want to assure every parent, grandparent and every member of the Willis ISD community that your children will be nurtured and safe when they are in school,” said Willis ISD Superintendent Bret Jimerson. “We are both outraged and deeply saddened by these circumstances. “This allegation, if true, is a despicable violation of a sacred trust by this former teacher, and we urge law enforcement authorities to continue moving swiftly and to take the strongest possible action.”
Kincaide remains in custody in the Kerr County jail.
