HOUSTON – A former math teacher at Alief Elsik High School is accused of having a five-month relationship with a student in 2013, according to the Houston Police Department.
Ricardo Rangel was charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship with a student.
Rangel began working at the school on August 20, 2012, but resigned a few months later in January, just weeks after he allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old student.
The student said Rangel, whom she called Rickey or Steven, picked her up from her home on January 10, 2013 and took her to his house. The two were in a bedroom watching television, when he climbed on top of her and had sex with her.
Rangel left the school on January 31, but continued having sex with the student up until June 8, 2013, according to court documents.
