HOUSTON—Forbes named Houston number one on its list of America’s Coolest Cities to Live. Not just the most business-friendly or the most mosquito-laden, but the coolest—an adjective not thrown around in reference to the Space City that often.
In fact, the city beat out its more famously "cool" neighbor Austin, which ranked #19. Dallas, San Antonio and Fort Worth also placed in the top 20.
Forbes praised Houston for not only its job growth, but its popularity with young professionals specifically, "strong theater scene, world-class museums and a multicultural, zoning-free mashup of a streetscape"
